Join me if you are looking to become more of the person you know you ought to be. These free, weekly meditations are inspired by a wide range of sources, including insightful books, philosophy, and encounters with intriguing individuals. I hope you find them useful as we explore the art of leading ourselves well.
Hello - my name is Dave LaGue.
The posts and emails you will find here are designed for people looking to become better versions of themselves—not necessarily wealthier, more successful, or even more healthy. I believe that most people sabotage themselves more often than they would like in life and are working to become better.
If this describes you, no matter who you are or what season of life you are in, these meditations are crafted with you in mind.
My wife and I co-parent three wonderful children. In my day job, I collaborate with small businesses, their staff, and their owners in the financial services industry. My experiences and my perspective of the world is admittedly limited, but I strive to make the content here valuable and reflective.
To ensure relevance and avoid spamming you, nearly everything shared here is derived from literature I’ve read, conversations I’ve had, or my own journey toward self-mastery. These meditations are universally applicable, not tailored to any specific faith, lifestyle, or industry. While I occasionally draw upon my own faith background and my experiences at work or home, it is merely to illustrate how philosophical ideas can be translated into action.
Above all, these reflections are meant to be helpful and serve as catalysts for sparking curiosity and fostering thoughtful conversations.
Our fears and desires frequently overpower our better judgment, leading to regrettable actions. Rather than combating these impulses with brute force, I advocate a gentler approach - parenting ourselves with compassion.
These are meditations on how to lead yourself with kindness.
I hope you find them beneficial.
